My Weekend Sale Pics

My Weekend Sale Pics

Wow! What a whirlwind of a weekend. So much to do in so little time. My weekend in review!

Friday – Home Tour, after-party, late lunch, play date, dinner, kids to bed, moms night out until 3am!

Needless to say, I was whipped and had to start all over again for Saturday!

Saturday – Shop for last minute birthday party items, finish the cake for the party, set-up the party, head home and settle the kids, spa event and facial, home, put kids to bed, binge watch Christmas movies on Netflix!

OMG! You don’t know how much of a treat it was to watch TV. I never watch it anymore because we are so busy with school, activities, and work. When it is on it is normally Disney Jr or a football game. Haha! I was just telling a girfriend the other day how my DVR just keeps recycling my shows. So sad….Oh well!

Today – wake-up, clean and mop downstairs before the kids woke up, make breakfast, quick photo shoot, head to the Rustic for a show, home, tidy up, head to HP Village for a carriage ride through the neighborhood, dinner, home, bathe the kids, shower, and relax in bed.

Thank goodness everyone conked out in record time. A reprieve =) Crazy weekend, but a ton of fun.

Did you have a busy weekend? What was the highlight of your weekend?

My looks this weekend consisted of a lot of jackets and sweaters. Two jackets were on major sale and so were some of the shoes! All great looks to carry you through the season. You can dress them up or down, which is a major bonus as holiday parties are HERE!

What do you do when you are waiting for a family member to catch up with you on a road trip? Pullover at the outlet malls and shop!

Last week we headed out to the country to check on the land and our chickens. Lucky for me I got to spend time shopping for the kids and walked out with loot for myself. Yea!

Old Navy has a ton of great inventory in right now. I will share the kids finds later this week. For mama, I scored big! I walked away with a beautiful soft pink jacket. It is so warm and cozy. I layered over navy and really like the blend of colors and textures. Each piece of clothing is around $60 or less. What a great deal!

My shoes and accessories are great too. The loafer comes in a few colors and I was able to find a nice black one in my size. These are surprising comfortable and have some cushion in them. After wearing them for most of the day I can promise you that they are a nice flat.

Their jewelry and winter accessory selection is amazing too. The beautiful white of the hat and scarf is reminds me of fresh snow. And how cute is the Pom Pom on the top. The necklace and earrings are delicate and sweet.

The overall outfit earns 5 stars! I can piece things together or remove items and still have a great look with the eight pieces of clothing I found at Old Navy. Yea for me!

My bag is actually Rebecca Minkoff. This crossbody has been on sale recently and is something to check out. The quilted pattern is edgy and relates back to the classic Chanel and Gucci products we have come to love and own.

Happy Shopping!

 The exact boot is here

If you have not figured it out yet, the secret is out. I love color! I love to layer! I love the coziness of fall and winter fashion.

Last year I came upon this fabulous scarf. What I love about it is the size and colors. It is referred to as a tartan blanket scarf. You can wear this so many ways and I shared a quick snapshot from Pinterest for you to reference. See below.

This is by no means the say all or be all to the proper way to wear this scarf, but it is certainly a start. It serves as a cardigan, scarf, neck warmer, top, cape, and more. Most of the tartans have a ton of colors mixed into the plaid work too. They are cozy, lightweight, and so very soft. All points in my book.

What made this look fun for me was all the pops of red. The scarf has hints of it throughout the pattern. The piko (OMG, these are the most comfortable easy wear tops ever – just saying) packs a big punch with the solid and bright red. My Sam Edelman booties bring a little edge and sass with the happy color on the feet.

A cheerful outfit for the holidays or any day! Hope your week is off to a great start! I have a small window of quiet while the kids sleep. I am off to finish everything up. Talk to you soon!

Beautiful Fall Colors

Beautiful Fall Colors

Good morning!

I am feeling amazing after a great night sleep and an early morning rise! Daylight savings is a funny thing.

Today is a big day. I have several conferences and then will help out at the school this afternoon. Staying busy and interacting with my peers is a blessing. While I absolutely love being at home with my babies it is refreshing to get out and utilize my skills and mind in a different channel. I am so thankful for my parents who help me have these days. I can’t be 100 places at once and they certainly lighten the load.

I always like to dress for comfort when I am subbing. It makes for a more comfortable day. Today I pulled out a few faves of mine. You can always count on the classroom being cold so I pulled out my wine/pink plaid scarf. Don’t you just love those colors? They are vibrant and happy. This piece is great as it can serve as a wrap or scarf and can accommodate my look and the weather in and outside. Thank you!

I layered over a DR2 top and some Lysse leggings. If you have never worn these pants you should try them. They have a control top and hug the body and help slim. What girl doesn’t love that help? My leopard slides are everything. So chic and comfy. They material is a fur that is so soft. The pattern is bold in a delicate way. I know that sounds crazy, but the spots call attention to the shoe while not being too overbearing. They are small and fabulous.

Just wanted to say a quick hello and share my ootd! Hope you have a wonderful Monday! Talk to you soon!

Vanessa

Weekend Travel

Weekend Travel

Travel Bag: Blvd. East

My family loves to travel. I was so excited to take this last minute trip to Denver with my hubby. He has work and I have socializing and shopping! Yes! You can’t be that for a fun getaway.

I told you before that my husband went to the Air Force Academy and we have several friends that live in Colorado from his time in the military and all of our assignments. Colorado was home almost ten years ago. We sure do miss it and try to get back as often as possible. Tonight is not only about work, but friendships and we can’t wait to connect with our friends!

Because our trip was a short one I got to debut my new weekender. I love this barrel bag. It is made from the finest leather and is two toned. There is a double zipper, a shoulder strap (optional), and it comes in two color options, signature Windsor hunter green or navy blue with a tan accent. Guys and gals – you have to pick one of these up. They are spacious and offer appeal for a day bag or a weekend bag. The hubs and I are already fighting over whose bag it is – honestly, doesn’t he know that everything is mine. JK!

The company behind the bag is Blvd. East. They are a local Dallas company with a great story. All items are handmade in Dallas and LA. Their philioshpy is Find Your Journey. You know what? Your bags make it that much easier to take on life.

Here’s to finding your journey! Happy weekend!

Vanessa
