Duffel Bag

Duffel Bag

We are 19 days out from Christmas and only 14 days away from vacation. Woo-hoo! I can’t believe how fast the school year is flying by. It is amazing to witness my babies taking on their education. I am so proud of them and can’t wait to see what the future holds for them.

I am not going to lie…although school has been amazing I sure do miss my free schedule. Help me! hahaha! No one tells you that life will be even busier once they enter “big” school. Needless to say, a nice long break will be wonderful.

Who has a vacation scheduled? I would love to say we have one set in stone, but we don’t. We do have a tentative trip to Disney after the new year and are hoping things fall into place. We took them all two years ago and they had a blast. Now that they are older they will be able to appreciate the park more too. What are some of your tips about Disneyland? I know there are two theme parks and have been to both as an adult, but not with kids. Everyone says that we have to do Cars so I have that on my list if we do go in the new year. Between both parks there are 13 themes with more of the old Disney feel on the resort side. I love old school Disney. The reason I like Disneyland for the kids is it is a “beginner” park and not too overwhelming in size and attendance. When the kids get a little older we will definitely head to Disneyworld.

Wish us luck that all the pieces come together for a magical vacation to kick-off 2018. Until then, my trips to the country will have to do (which works for me)!

For those that love to travel and want a good carryall, you need to purchase this duffel bag from Boulevard East. The leather alone makes the bag worth it. They use English Bridle and Signature Windsor for their products that are primarily made locally in Dallas, TX. Some of the larger goods are made out of LA, but all are made in the USA. They come in two color combos and are made to last. Currently they are offering free shipping through the end of the year. A great gift idea for him or her. They also offer wallets, portfolios, and passport holders. New products will be launching in the coming year too. This bag is a favorite that will travel through the years with me and my family.

Here’s hoping you have big plans for the holidays. Have a wonderful day!

Weekend Travel

Weekend Travel

Travel Bag: Blvd. East

My family loves to travel. I was so excited to take this last minute trip to Denver with my hubby. He has work and I have socializing and shopping! Yes! You can’t be that for a fun getaway.

I told you before that my husband went to the Air Force Academy and we have several friends that live in Colorado from his time in the military and all of our assignments. Colorado was home almost ten years ago. We sure do miss it and try to get back as often as possible. Tonight is not only about work, but friendships and we can’t wait to connect with our friends!

Because our trip was a short one I got to debut my new weekender. I love this barrel bag. It is made from the finest leather and is two toned. There is a double zipper, a shoulder strap (optional), and it comes in two color options, signature Windsor hunter green or navy blue with a tan accent. Guys and gals – you have to pick one of these up. They are spacious and offer appeal for a day bag or a weekend bag. The hubs and I are already fighting over whose bag it is – honestly, doesn’t he know that everything is mine. JK!

The company behind the bag is Blvd. East. They are a local Dallas company with a great story. All items are handmade in Dallas and LA. Their philioshpy is Find Your Journey. You know what? Your bags make it that much easier to take on life.

Here’s to finding your journey! Happy weekend!

BTW, exciting things are coming soon. Make sure to check back often!

Small Town Fun

One of my favorite things to do is discover small towns. East Texas is home to a lot of small towns with a lot of charm.

Ben Wheeler is one of our newest discoveries. It is a great town that has a few restaurants, a famous guitar shop (they supply some of Nashville’s finest musicians with products), and other artisan shops.

Today the kids and I stopped in town to explore the sites. One of their favorite things is the Moon Pie mural. Not sure if it is the dessert or that someone painted a picture on the building 😍

The town is also the capital of wild hogs. Scare me 🐷 Oink!

As the cooler months approach we will be spending a lot of time here enjoying their music festivals.

My look today was relaxed and fun for this wonderful weather and day of discovery. A cute ruffled denim off the shoulder top, suede leggings, tied together with a leather belt. Comfy brown wedges and a hobo bag for all my goodies.

A successful Saturday in my book! Oh, and some outfit items are on sale now!

Hand-Stitched Embroidery

I am blessed to grow up in a family with rich culture. We have always loved the bold colors, authentic food, rich history, and great love of family that make up the culture.

In the south, it is not uncommon for many of all cultures to wear the traditional hand-stitched embroidered Mexican dress or shirt. They are beautiful and tell a vivid story in the craftsmanship of the product. These are great for everyday wear, lounging, pool attire, and a great fiesta.

There is a wonderful brand based in Dallas, Mi Golondrina that took this art and created a beautiful upscale product. I am wearing a dress from their blanco collection. This specific dress is not currently available, but I linked her site for you to browse her entire collection. She has an accessory and home line too.

I accessorized with some metal line sunglasses from Nordstrom and some chandelier earrings. Pair with some nude wedges and a straw bag and you are ready to go! My clutch is vintage.

If you are in Dallas stop by Mariposa on Knox-Henderson. They carry a variety of embroidered clothing. Also, if you are in San Antonio be sure to check out the market near Mi Tierra’s. They have an abundance of these pieces for little ones to adults. BTW, Mi Tierra’s is a festive experience for a great Tex-Mex meal and bakery.
