What do you do when you are waiting for a family member to catch up with you on a road trip? Pullover at the outlet malls and shop!
Last week we headed out to the country to check on the land and our chickens. Lucky for me I got to spend time shopping for the kids and walked out with loot for myself. Yea!
Old Navy has a ton of great inventory in right now. I will share the kids finds later this week. For mama, I scored big! I walked away with a beautiful soft pink jacket. It is so warm and cozy. I layered over navy and really like the blend of colors and textures. Each piece of clothing is around $60 or less. What a great deal!
My shoes and accessories are great too. The loafer comes in a few colors and I was able to find a nice black one in my size. These are surprising comfortable and have some cushion in them. After wearing them for most of the day I can promise you that they are a nice flat.
Their jewelry and winter accessory selection is amazing too. The beautiful white of the hat and scarf is reminds me of fresh snow. And how cute is the Pom Pom on the top. The necklace and earrings are delicate and sweet.
The overall outfit earns 5 stars! I can piece things together or remove items and still have a great look with the eight pieces of clothing I found at Old Navy. Yea for me!
My bag is actually Rebecca Minkoff. This crossbody has been on sale recently and is something to check out. The quilted pattern is edgy and relates back to the classic Chanel and Gucci products we have come to love and own.
Part 3 of the weekend miniseries:
Ok, I love clothes and this season I have been shopping all over town. I have hit high end retailers and the everyday retailer. Fashion is not about cost. It is about cut, style, fit, and the confidence you gain when wearing a piece of clothing. Price does not make a look desirable. You do and they way you shape your style.
This look is brought to you by Old Navy. Typically I do not shop here for myself. The pants don’t always fit right for my tiny waist and bigger leg. It happens with a curvy body. It does not mean I don’t like the clothes. I just am normally in there like a tornado buying for my four littles and darting back out. I was pleasantly surprised when I popped into the women’s department. They just received a new delivery and the products were amazing. Most of the look is from Old Navy. How is that for success.
This look is so beautiful. The wool blend pea coat is a perfect length and the material is soft and comfortable. The shirt is sleeveless and has a pretty flow and bunching at the neck as it lays. It comes in a couple of colors too. The jewelry is fun and colorful with the long necklace. The pants are HUE leggings again and I have on zip booties from DV for Dolce Vita.
I really like this outfit. I feel beautiful, confident, and elegant. Take a chance on retailers and own this products when you wear them.
Until next time!

It’s no secret I’m not a conservative dresser. I like it a little over the edge in some clothing decisions. Be on the lookout for remarkable sleeve details this fall. What I loved about this dress was the detail work from shoulder down to the wrist. I found it creative and edgy to highlight the arms instead of the bust line or legs. It’s form fitting so for me that works with my figure. I added a beautiful heel and black bag as well as my go to gold jewelry and watch.
I can’t say enough about the little black dress. Whether, it’s plain or with detail you can’t beat having it in your wardrobe. Add in the over the knee boots and you have a completely different look. This screams look at me. The boots are so comfortable and actually fit over my calf. Can you believe it? Thank goodness for designers understanding that all women do not come in the same shape. Wide calf boots are all over the shelves these days. If you are a curvier girl make sure you sample some of these cuts as they will be more comfortable and look great.
Being a mom is challenging as well as rewarding. I do want to remember to own my own personal space and style. It’s that space where you haven’t forgotten your likes and dreams of whatever it might be for you. Be daring sometimes and walk on the edge of fashion. It’s fun and different, but more importantly it’s your style.
Have a wonderful weekend, it’s my alma mater’s big college rivalry this weekend in Dallas at the State Fair of Texas. Look for some fun pics celebrating a good old fashion southern football season. Oh, and Happy Friday the 13th. 🙂

There is nothing better than finding a few pieces in a wardrobe that can pair well with many things. This season two items are hot and I have had them on repeat a lot. This week especially 😉 My distressed hi lo jeans and my animal print slides. Both go well with all colors and keep a casual look exciting with the ripped style and the loud animal print!
I know what you are thinking. She paid money for jeans with holes and cuts all over them. Right! It is a tough pill to swallow especially when I could give my five year olds scissors to create the same piece. HA! Ladies, I am hear to tell you. Spend the money. You can find these jeans from $30 to $200. They are trendy, durable, and can be worn anywhere.
The slides are some of my favorites. Animal print roared itself right in to this season’s standards. It is bold and edgy. There are several items that are available and most are surprisingly affordable. My slides are very comfortable and the texture is a silky soft. I really like the print and don’t feel like I have too much of a good thing going on.
My top is an oldie but goodie. A v neck never goes out of style and the cut is appealing and sophisticated. I could easily wear this into the office or keep it relaxed for a day on the town. I linked several v necks for you to choose from that have the same look and appeal as my exact top.
To doll up the look I layered a lot of gold on my wrist. I can’t tell you how much I like this grouping. My Michael Kors bangle is chunky and is a nice solid piece to wear with my watch. I have an evil eye bracelet that is simple and delicate to help break up the bulk. I also wore my David Yurman cuff that is two metals with some bling. This totally added appeal to my casual style.
When you find a good thing show it off. Recycling is totally in and doesn’t just need to stop at the kitchen.

School is back in session and that means so are activities. We allow the kids two activities a season. We do not want them burning out or losing time to be a kid.
Soccer is one of the activities the twins and one of our daughters chose this season. They get great socialization, learn skills, and the parents get a whole lot of entertainment.
Today was our first practice for the the season. Those boys are darling and I had some good laughs watching them move.
My afternoon look is casual and perfect for day of activities. I love these shorts and how versatile they are in my wardrobe. I added a simple white yoga tee shirt and layered with a denim jacket and rolled the sleeves. Perfect for Texas weather.
Accessorized with some fun jeweled bracelets and dangle earrings. Added my Big Buddha and I am all set for soccer practice!
I must admit I also used their practice as time to catch up on some reading. Hence, my trusty iPad!
Here’s to Fall.
