Hand-Stitched Embroidery

August 21, 2017

I am blessed to grow up in a family with rich culture. We have always loved the bold colors, authentic food, rich history, and great love of family that make up the culture.

In the south, it is not uncommon for many of all cultures to wear the traditional hand-stitched embroidered Mexican dress or shirt. They are beautiful and tell a vivid story in the craftsmanship of the product. These are great for everyday wear, lounging, pool attire, and a great fiesta.

There is a wonderful brand based in Dallas, Mi Golondrina that took this art and created a beautiful upscale product. I am wearing a dress from their blanco collection. This specific dress is not currently available, but I linked her site for you to browse her entire collection. She has an accessory and home line too.

I accessorized with some metal line sunglasses from Nordstrom and some chandelier earrings. Pair with some nude wedges and a straw bag and you are ready to go! My clutch is vintage.

If you are in Dallas stop by Mariposa on Knox-Henderson. They carry a variety of embroidered clothing. Also, if you are in San Antonio be sure to check out the market near Mi Tierra’s. They have an abundance of these pieces for little ones to adults. BTW, Mi Tierra’s is a festive experience for a great Tex-Mex meal and bakery.
