My closet is a reflection of me and my personal style. I love clothes, accessories, shoes, and more. Every year, twice a year, I filter through it and donate clothes that don’t fit, I have not worn, and have seen better days.
For many this is a cleansing process, for others this is a nightmare (my husband falls in this category). Ha! One of the things I like best about this process is the freshness the space. Everything has a spot, you can see your clothes, things are organized (can you believe it), and you can add new staples for the seasons.
I like to keep items that are classic pieces and can be paired with the new trends. I like to keep a lot of dresses. My vice is a maxi-dress. I am able to dress them up and down and most stay in style.
Last night I met my girls for dinner to celebrate the end of summer and catch up. Floral is in and I shopped my closet for a beautiful halter print maxi from Guess. This style is not available in the stores, so I linked a gorgeous halter maxi from Nordstrom. I added beaded wedges, some large hoops (current style), a blush crossbody bag that can double for a clutch, and some edgy sunglasses.
Two of the above pieces are new. The rest were from my collection. It sure does feel good to shop your closet and reuse beautiful pieces.
How often do you cleanout your closet? Do you have a go-to charity? Do your consign?
What’s in my closet:
- Eliza J Print Halter Maxi
- Shira Melody Jessica Hoop
- Metal Line Sunglass
- Ann Taylor Crossbody Bag
- Moreno Beaded Wedge
