I have always been a clean and organized individual. However, now that I am a mother of four and busy out the wazoo I find myself deterring from some of the practices I always followed. Keeping my home clean, uncluttered, and happy. Continue reading “Home Redesign”
I like to try new looks and will incorporate pieces to an outfit all the time. Today I brought in my crushed velvet bootie in blue to add a pop to the neutral look. That blue is so vibrant and the height of the boot will give you a couple of inches. It is a gorgeous statement that starts at the ground!

Precious moments with my oldest are the best. He is a twin (fraternal) and takes his role seriously. He is protective of his siblings, helpful, very independent, and sensitive and in need of a lot of love and affection. This boy is an amazing gift that has a lot of grit and fire. I can’t wait to watch him grow up!
It is rare that I get him or any of the others 1:1 as they are all so close in age. Taking time with him at one of my favorite stores is always a bonus and treat for him. We stopped by Paul Michael Company for a dose of the holidays and preview of the new products that are coming. Check my IG Stories @TexasMadre for a sneak peak. You can buy products online, via phone, or visit one of their flagship stores.
He loves the store almost as much as I do too. Although I think his love runs more towards the free drinks, snacks, and lollipops! HA! Whatever works.
We are both casual and a bit country. Me with my denim and boots and him with his hat and overalls. All a must in Texas. Speaking of boots, my booties are by Dolce Vita and are under $50. They come in more colors too. They are comfortable and great for long wear. You need a pair!
I am sorry to say that my exact top sold out, but I did link three similar options that I know you will like!
Hope you find that time with your littles or special someone! Happy shopping!

The family went to East Texas this weekend for a little R&R. We love the wide open spaces and slow pace.
Lucky for us First Monday was taking place. This is 100 acres of vendors set up selling their products in the largest “flea market” in the country. There you go! We rounded up the kiddos and hit the pavement for a few hours. There were a lot of ups and downs, but we are happy to say we finished the day off with carnival rides and smiles. Thank goodness.
We went to Trade Days with two purposes.
1. Take the kids to see the live animals, specifically chickens. DONE!
2. Look for inspiration and items for our dance barn.
We did find some cool pieces, but did not buy this round. Our barn is definitely old and rustic. We are trying to determine how to best handle the floors. Right now we are on dirt so we have to take that into consideration when buying. Good news we know where to find what we need next month and can start buying and storing until the barn is complete.
If you have never gone to a flea market you should. There are thousands of people that come from all over. It is definitely something to see.
To tackle those 100 acres I needed something casual and comfortable. Also, Texas is being flighty with the weather so layers are an absolute must. Check out my go to look for a day of walking and pickin’!

You did it. You made it through most of the week and only have one day to go before you can sit back and relax.
Did you guys catch the World Series? How about them Astros?! When I graduated from college I worked for one of their farm teams and loved it. This was such a wonderful victory for them in light of recent events. Proud of their team and will. It was bittersweet to watch though. One of the pitchers for the Dodgers grew up in my neighborhood. I guess I could not go wrong with either team winning. =) Until next season! Come on April!
Today was a day full of errands and work. I am one of those people that starts a project and will move to another before completing the first one. This does not happen with everyday things, just home redecorating etc. Needless to say, I must break the cycle and get it done. Well, I did today. I finally wrapped up a purging project. Several piles of goodies to donate to the shelters and families in need. That was a much needed task that is rewarding!
With all the things going on today I needed a casual look to match my mood and the job at hand. This look is so fun! I mixed and matched several pieces and layered x2! You can’t go wrong with all that texture =)
My exact vest is from E.Leigh’s Boutique. It is a quilted pattern and the hoodies is fur lined. I love the olive green too. This can carry you through the season. It will also work nicely under a jacket. I layered over a very lightweight flannel and lace trimmed cami. In Texas this week we have been starting our days with cooler weather only to turn into 80 and 90 degrees. These layers are key!
I am in some distressed denim jeans with a hi lo hem. The hems right now are all cut, cuffed, frayed, and frilled. Have fun with your denim. I paired my Sam Edelman boogies with the look. They are extremely comfortable and gorgeous to boot.
Accessories are all eclectic and purchased through out of state vendors. The bag is Remember Me Green. They are an eco-friendly company that uses sustabible billboards and recycles/upcycles them into bags and more. Check them out. Their story is worth reading.
Earrings are from the Fuss Boutique in Florida. They offer an online store as well as direct sales over the phone.
Accomplished and casual is the name of the game today. So glad to check one more thing off the list.
Have a great night and until tomorrow.

So, when it comes to layering I have a huge selection of goodies. There are a mix between old and new in my closet. This is great as some things are always in season and can blend right in with the current trends.
Take my Navajo vest. Is this not gorgeous? The colors, texture, and design are all top notch. I bought this earlier this year at Canton Trade Days. If you have never heard of Trade Days you need to check it out. Once a month (First Monday) the town of Canton opens up their outdoor space to hundreds of vendors. They come out starting the Thursday before the first Monday of each month and setup for four days of sales. They easily see thousands of customers during those days. Anyway, there is a darling boutique that sets up a pop up here and I happened to snag this beautiful vest. Next time I visit the booth I will pull their information to share with you all. In the meantime, I linked some other options for vests.
My top is from Target. I tell you every time I wear one of their pieces they are doing great things with their buyers and brands. I received so many compliments on my top. It is soft, great quality, light weight, and the color is amazing. Bell sleeves are totally in and there is a slit at the wrist for more flows movement. Take it from me, buy this top in every color. It is great on its own and layered.
The rest of the look is casual with the jeans and riding boots. Speaking of the boots. I have a larger calf than the average woman. These boots from Easy Street (bought at DSW) offer the perfect space and fit for my body. I can wear over jeans that are bulky, which is amazing. Thank you so much for the industry and designers that are catering fantastic pieces for the curvier woman. I appreciate you!
Enjoy these wonderful colors this season and don’t shy away from the bold!
