Black and white known as the classic, the modern, and to some perfect colors for any look.

In my opinion, there is no true need to add accessories to the bold statement these neutral colors make in style.  They stand alone when matched together or separate because they have long been expressed in design as classic, elegant, and sophisticated.

However, if and when you do add that pop of color you will not be sorry. The black and white offer a neutral canvas to show off that special something. You will definitely make a statement with that special piece you choose to highlight.

Don’t be afraid to go for fun patterns in these colors too. They achieve the same effect as a pop of color would. Two of the tops I wore in these looks offer vertical stripes and polka dots. These patterns are fun with a updated take on a favorite trend.

I also wore two pieces with a unique cut to add shape and movement in my sweatshirt and off the shoulder top. The sweatshirt is a fabulous piece to own as it can be dressed up or down. The lattice work design on the back is feminine and a little sexy with the peek a boo style. The off the shoulder top is a beautiful style. The ruffles are flirty and the white piping give it extra appeal and wow factor.

What are some of your favorite black and white staples in your closet? I have to say my black pants (specifically my Lysse high waisted jeggings) take the prize. I love the slimming look they create and how they give length to my legs! Any illusion I will take =)
